Basawakkulama
Accourding to the legendry Basawakkulama is the oldest water reservoir in Sri Lanka built by the king Pandukabhaya in 4th century B.C. Earlier known as Abhayavapi (Abhaya Vava) and now known as Basawakkulam, located in the ancient city of Anuradhapura. It covers an area of 205 acres and supply water for the cultivation.
I could capture few different moods of Basawakkulam in dawn in January 2007.
